Walt's Birthday Celebration
Its almost Walt's Birthday. There is a birthday fundraiser on his site and on our Facebook site (facebook.com/thestorm82). Let's raise some money to help some kids. You can donate here on the website, or by using the Facebook link above. Currently we have 10 student's who have applied for and qualified for scholarships, so let's not let them down by not having the money to cover them.

Giving them a fighting chance
The Walter Weatherford Memorial Fund for at Risk and Disadvantaged Youth, Inc. was founded with the intent of continuing Walter’s legacy of helping at-risk and disadvantaged youth in Ventura County, CA by providing funding for scholarships to learn the discipline of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and the skill of Boxing though KnuckleHeadz Boxing gym in Ventura. Walter's hope was that these fighting skills would teach kids respect and give them an outlet for the anger and fear that many of them have grown up with and allow them to become stronger and more productive citizens in the future. However, he was also a strong advocate for college, and thus the foundation will also fund scholarships for college or post-secondary training for these same types of young men and women.
